Pregnancy.. Good Health For You And Your Baby

Your good health during pregnancy is important for the good health of your baby. You already know that. It is important to know why that is important.

From the moment your baby is conceived .... the nutrients in your body are shared. Your baby gets what it needs first .. with your body getting what is left. I
f you don't have enough in supply in your body for you and your baby .. you will feel tired, lethargic and weak ... as your body is not getting what it needs nutritionally.
Cravings .. or perhaps constant hunger feelings ... are ways your body is telling you to replenish that used supply and you should replenish it by eating well.. with foods high in proteins, vitamins and minerals. Follow your doctor's advice if she recommends a prenatal vitamin.
Good health for you and your baby's sake is important. Do not attempt to lose weight during your pregnancy. If you were overweight when you got pregnant .. eating well may cause you to lose some of the body weight you have but you should not follow a diet for the explicit purpose of losing weight. Doing so may deprive your baby of basic nutrients it needs for proper development.
Our bodies are made up of more than 70% water so it makes sense to drink plenty of water.
If you feel "morning sickness" it may be the cause of dehydration. If that is the case... drinking water will alleviate it.
Even without "morning sickness".. you need to drink enough water to keep your body well hydrated at all times.
Exercise according to your doctor's advice.... keeping your body well toned. Well toned back and abdomen muscles will help in labor of the delivery ahead while a well toned body all around is a real plus to your morale which has a tendency to drift from high to low and back again very quickly during pregnancy with all the hormone changes taking place in your body... along with all the natural physical changes.
Sleeping well may become non-exisistent at some point in your pregnancy as the weight of the baby puts more stress on your bladder.
That is the time when your body will call on regular naps during the day to make up for the lack at night. Don't deny yourself those naps. A well rested body leads to better health for you and your baby.
Feeling good and looking good is a definite plus to your emotional and mental health.
Feeling good and knowing that you look good can relieve stress that your mind will put you under as you worry about extra weight gain which is a very natural and normal concern for most women during pregnancy. You will gain weight but if you eat well, exercise well and rest well ... you will carry it gracefully and naturally and you will look good. There is no reason not to.
Eating well, exercising well, resting well.
These ... then ... are the main keys that will lead to a pregnancy of good health for you and your baby. You already knew your good health was important for the good health of your baby. Now you know why your good health during pregnancy is important not just for your baby... but for you too.
